Acupuncture extra points for uterus

Wednesday Jul 7, 2010

In this short article I will advise only two extra acupuncture points to treat uterine problems. One of them I will present two known variants. These are some of the most famous extra acupuncture points in the treatment of uterine problems.

Those acupuncture points are located in the abdominal area (abdominal region refers to the belly. In this case we talk about the area below the navel). There are other acupuncture points located in the lumbar region (lower back) but have a wider range of actions and will be recommended in other articles.

The first point I wish to advise is called títuo. I have already found some translations that vary for this item and its meaning, but all of them focus at the level of uterine problems. One such translation refers to the ability to lift anything heavy which indicates the ability of this acupuncture point in treating prolapse as uterine prolapse. Their clinical indications also include other symptoms like abdominal pain, inguinal hernia or pain in the ovaries.

The first acupuncture point, Jingbi, is located at the inner third of the clavicle, 1 cun superior to its top edge. His name, jing bi, means neck (jing) and arm (bi). This name is due to its location (neck) and region of the body to which it is used (upper arm).

Among its various clinical indications is sensation of distention, numbness in the arm, paresthesia, pain. Essentially we are talking about problems arising from external trauma.

acupuncture to ease sweats 2

Tuesday Jun 29, 2010

In the first article on acupuncture points to treat sweating I advised 3 acupuncture points. For this second article I kept two acupuncture points which can also be used.

The first is LI4 (hegu) which is located in the middle of the radial edge of the 2nd metacarpal. This is one of the most commonly used acupuncture points around the world. It has a wide range of clinical indications from toothache to fever. It can also be used to treat sweating. Some academic works advise this point to excessive sweating caused by the summer heat due to its ability to strengthen the body and eliminate heat. Other technical books do not specify at this level the clinical indications of this point.

Acupuncture to ease sweats

Monday Jun 28, 2010

Sweating can be a symptom clinically relevant to diagnose certain clinical patterns. Daytime sweating and aggravated by stress can expose a qi deficiency, night sweats may terminate a Yin deficiency. Even when we speak of pathology outside sweating may be important because it reveals the predominance of patterns of wind or cold.

In the same way that there are drugs (herbal medicine) that treat these symptoms, the Chinese eventually describe acupuncture points that may also be used in relieving this symptom. In this article we advise three acupuncture points.
The first acupuncture point is HT6, the point of emergence of the meridian/channel of the heart. This acupuncture point is located at the upper edge of the head of the ulna proximal to HT7 which is located in the distal transverse crease of the wrist.
