Completing the trilogy of articles about addictions (alcohol addiction, stop smoking, etc…) – smoking and acupuncture, acupuncture and alcoholism – I’ve decided to write about addictions (heroin addiction, cocain addiction, meth addiction, substance abuse, etc…) and acupuncture. The authors, on which I base these three articles, Ganglin Yin and Zhenghua Liu, presented two different texts for smoking and drug abuse of other substances (heroin, meth – methamphetamine -, cocain, etc…).
Although very similar addiction treatment, although one addiction treatment can be used in other type of addiction, the authors showed us as different addiction treatment and so I’ll make the same in this set of articles.

This article comes from a series of articles I am writing about acupuncture and addictions (alcohol addiction, heroin addiction, meth addiction, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, opiate addiction). Despite the doubts over the effectiveness of acupuncture on them – that I share! - There are already defined TCM treatments to address these problems such as alcohol addiction treatment, addictions treatments or drug addiction treatment.
As for nicotine dependence article, this text was written based on the work of Ganglin Yin and Zhenghua Liu, Advanced Modern Chinese Acupuncture Therapy. Specifically addresses three different treatments that can be done with acupuncture in the treatment of alcoholism (treatment for alcohol abuse).

I’ve mentioned in another article several studies regarding the use of acupuncture in drug addiction treatment (drug addiction) and the dependence on cigarettes (drugs). My view is simple: there are no studies that show that acupuncture is really effective and the results of many clinics can only be due to false advertising and triage of patients in order to select only those who actually will stop smoking.
But this does not indicate that I do not write texts on Chinese medicine for these tipe of problems (drug addiction treatment, drug rehabilitation, drug rehab, drug treatment). In this case I will talk about some peculiarities of acupuncture treatment. My source is the excellent work of Yin and Ganglin Zhenghua Liu, Advanced Modern Chinese Acupuncture Therapy.
